Bubbles Blowout is one of our most popular workshops — and for good reason. Students explore gas properties, surface tension and air pressure through spectacular, hands-on bubble experiments that make abstract science concepts tangible and unforgettable.

EYFS and KS1 students explore bubble shapes, sizes and colours through playful investigations. KS2 students dig deeper into the physics — surface tension, air pressure differentials, and why bubbles are always spheres. Every activity builds scientific enquiry skills.

Perfect as a standalone science day or as part of British Science Week. Students leave with a genuine understanding of forces and materials — and a big smile.

What Students Do

Airzooka Smoke Rings

Students use an airzooka combined with a smoke machine to fire visible vortex rings across the room — exploring how air moves and how invisible forces can be made visible.

Pot Rockets

Using effervescent tablets and water, students build pressure inside sealed pots until — POP! They launch into the air. A brilliant way to explore gas expansion and pressure build-up.

Cloud in a Bottle

Students create a real cloud inside a bottle by manipulating pressure and temperature — a hands-on demonstration of condensation, air pressure and states of matter.

KS1+

Bouncing Bubbles

Using a special solution, students create bubbles that can actually bounce on gloved hands! They explore surface tension, material properties and why regular bubbles pop on contact.

Giant Bubble Ring

The grand finale! Students use a giant bubble ring to create enormous bubbles — exploring why bubbles are always spheres and how surface tension works at scale.
