Build a Year of Future Skills

Not one-off days — a year that builds. Hands-on workshops mapped to your school's themed weeks — as many as suit your calendar and budget — reaching every class from EYFS to Year 6, with the Future Skills Passport carrying the learning in between.

The idea

One brilliant day is still one day

A single workshop ignites curiosity — but the schools getting the most from Spark2 do something smarter: they build the whole year around the twelve Future Skills, anchoring a hands-on day to each of their themed weeks and letting the Passport keep the learning alive in between. It turns enrichment into progression, and one-off wow-days into a plan you can evidence.

1

Map your themed weeks

Take the themed and awareness weeks already in your calendar — Anti-Bullying Week, Financial Literacy, Citizenship, Aspiration Week — and match each to the Future Skills workshop that brings it to life.

2

A hands-on day when it suits

We bring everything and run up to seven sessions a day, so every class from Reception to Year 6 takes part. Many schools do one day per half term; others start with three or four — it's yours to shape, with no prep from your team.

3

The Passport joins the dots

Between visits, the Future Skills Passport delivers the same twelve skills as short weekly lessons — building progression and the statutory PSHE evidence for SLT and Ofsted.

The model

An example year

Why a programme

Why a year beats six separate days

Progression, not one-offs

The same twelve skills build across the year, so each day is a milestone in a journey — not an isolated event pupils forget by half term.

Evidence built in

The Passport auto-maps every skill to the statutory PSHE framework, giving you an inspection-ready record per pupil, class and whole school.

Whole-school reach

Every class from EYFS to Year 6 takes part in every visit — and the Passport reaches them between visits too.

One trusted partner

One plan, one provider, one set of dates held for the year. DBS-checked presenters, full risk assessments, everything included.

For your leadership team

A line in your School Development Plan — that you can evidence

This isn't enrichment for its own sake. It maps straight onto priorities your development plan already carries — and the Passport gives you the evidence for each.

Personal development

Twelve life skills delivered to every child across the year — the substance behind a strong personal-development offer.

Wellbeing & behaviour

Mental health, first aid, teamwork and resilience — a safe, respectful culture and pupils who can look after themselves and each other.

Inclusion — by design

Every session differentiated EYFS to Year 6 and adapted to the pupils in the room, so every child takes part — inclusive by design, not by exception.

Statutory & inspection-ready

Mapped to statutory PSHE and ready for 2028, with a one-click evidence pack per pupil, class and whole school.

The Future Skills Passport ties it together

The workshops are the spark; the Passport is the sustain. The same twelve skills as one short weekly lesson, all year, so a memorable day becomes measurable progression.

Book the year and the Passport is included free for your first year.

  • Progression tracking across all 12 skills
  • Statutory PSHE auto-mapped to the DfE framework
  • One-click inspection PDF — pupil, class, whole-school

What it costs

Workshop days from £599 + VAT each — as many as suit your year — everything included, with the Future Skills Passport free for your first year. A whole-school year of hands-on enrichment plus year-round progression, for around the price of a handful of one-off visits. We'll build a bespoke plan and quote around your calendar.

Funding it

It may fit your Inclusive Mainstream Fund

From 2026–27 every mainstream school receives the new Inclusive Mainstream Fund — a £3,000 lump sum plus per-pupil funding — to become inclusive by design and improve pupils' wellbeing and personal development.

One of the fund's seven permitted themes is “accessible and enriching provision beyond the classroom — to support personal development, build independence and prepare for adulthood.” A Future Skills year — every child, differentiated, wellbeing and life-skills at its heart — sits naturally within that, and the Passport gives you ready-made evidence for the inclusion strategy schools must publish this year.

Schools decide their own allocation based on their cohort's needs — we'd simply be glad to help you show how a Future Skills year supports your inclusion strategy. See the fund ↗

Questions

Common questions from headteachers

Can we fund a Future Skills programme through the Inclusive Mainstream Fund?

Potentially, yes. The fund (2026–27) helps schools become inclusive by design and improve wellbeing and personal development, and one of its seven permitted themes is enriching provision beyond the classroom for personal development. A Future Skills year sits within that, and the Passport gives you evidence for your inclusion strategy. Schools decide their own allocation based on their cohort's needs.

How does a Future Skills programme fit our School Development Plan?

It maps onto personal development, wellbeing and behaviour, inclusion, and statutory PSHE — with the Passport providing inspection-ready evidence per pupil, class and whole school. A line in the plan you can actually evidence.

Do we have to do one workshop every half term?

No — it's fully flexible. Many schools do one hands-on day per half term; others start with three or four across the year. The Passport runs weekly underneath either way.

How much does a whole-school Future Skills year cost?

Workshop days are from £599 + VAT each, everything included, and you book as many as suit your year. The Future Skills Passport is free for your first year. We build a bespoke plan and quote around your calendar.

How does the Future Skills Passport work alongside the workshops?

The workshops are the spark; the Passport is the sustain — one short weekly session on the same twelve skills, run as daily touch points, within PSHE, or as home learning, with statutory PSHE evidence built in.
