What's Included

Hands-on Kit

Curiosity — what's your question?

Pupils are amazed by live demonstrations in a whole-school assembly, including kinetic energy experiments, disappearing water, spinning like a skater and a giant bubble ring finale, before taking part in practical workshop activities.

Each class session includes the Grab the Orange Challenge, Bernoulli's Windbags, the inertia tablecloth trick, ZipString engineering, building a human electrical circuit and controlling a hovering ping-pong ball. Every session is carefully adapted for different year groups.

Designed to encourage pupils to predict, test ideas and explore how forces, energy, air pressure and electricity shape the world around them — leaving every child inspired to keep questioning and exploring long after the day ends.

Hands-on Experience

Hands-on Experience

Each session includes live demonstrations, practical experiments, and hands-on challenges where students directly manipulate materials and test scientific ideas. No screens — just engaging, tactile learning that builds confidence and curiosity.

What Students Do

1

Kinetic Energy Demonstrations

Live whole-school assembly demonstrations including kinetic energy experiments and disappearing water that leave students amazed.

All year groups
2

Grab the Orange Challenge

Hands-on problem-solving challenge exploring forces and motion — can you grab the orange using science?

All year groups
3

Bernoulli's Windbags

Explore air pressure and aerodynamics by inflating bags in a single breath using Bernoulli's principle.

KS1+
4

Inertia Tablecloth Trick

The classic physics trick explained — students learn about inertia and Newton's First Law through dramatic demonstrations.

KS2
5

Human Electrical Circuit

Students become part of a working electrical circuit, learning about conductors, insulators and energy transfer.

All year groups
6

Giant Bubble Ring Finale

The spectacular finale — exploring surface tension, gas properties and pressure through giant bubble formations.

All year groups

Learning Outcomes

Curiosity-driven thinking

Pupils develop the habit of asking 'why' and 'what if' questions about the world around them.

Scientific concepts through exploration

Students investigate forces, motion, pressure, heat and energy transfer through hands-on experiments.

Confidence in experimenting

Pupils learn to predict outcomes, test variables and reflect on results — building resilience when experiments surprise them.

Science in the real world

Students discover how scientific concepts link to technology, sport and nature.

"The children were absolutely buzzing after the assembly. The Year 3 class couldn't stop talking about the inertia trick and tried to recreate it at lunchtime. That's exactly what science should do — make children want to try things for themselves."
