A hands-on teamwork workshop where students learn to collaborate, communicate, and lead — discovering that the best results come from working together, not working alone.
The Work as a Team workshop doesn't just tell children to work together — it gives them real experiences that prove collaboration works. Through carefully designed challenges that can only be solved as a team, students discover their strengths, learn to listen, and understand that different perspectives make better outcomes.
Every session is adapted to your year group. Reception and Year 1 build teamwork through cooperative play and simple partner challenges. Year 2 and 3 take on structured team tasks that require communication and role allocation. Year 4 and 5 face complex challenges that demand strategy, delegation, and conflict resolution. Year 6 lead teams through multi-stage projects and reflect on their leadership style.
Builds essential employability skills — communication, collaboration, and leadership — that appear in every list of what employers want from future workers.
This workshop maps directly to the Work as a Team skill in the Future Skills Passport programme. Book it as a standalone wow-factor day, or as part of your school's journey towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold accreditation.
Every activity is designed to build a different aspect of this skill. Your facilitator selects and adapts activities based on the year group.
Opening activities that build trust and connection within teams — from partner mirrors and guided walks for younger students to blindfold challenges and trust falls for older ones.
All year groupsStudents discover the different roles people play in teams — leader, ideas person, organiser, encourager — and identify their own strengths. Teams work best when everyone's contribution is valued.
Year 1+Activities where teams must communicate clearly to succeed — building structures from verbal instructions alone, passing complex messages accurately, and learning that miscommunication causes most team failures.
All year groupsTeams face a challenge they must plan before executing — allocating roles, managing time, and adapting when things don't go as expected. The planning is as important as the doing.
Year 2+Through scenarios and role-play, students learn what to do when team members disagree — listening to understand, finding compromise, and keeping the goal in sight.
Year 3+The ultimate team challenge — a multi-stage task where teams must combine all their skills: trust, roles, communication, strategy, and conflict resolution to achieve something none of them could do alone.
Year 2+Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and the Future Skills Passport framework.
Students know the different roles people play in teams and can identify their own strengths and contributions.
Students can give clear instructions, ask useful questions, and listen actively to understand others.
Students know how to handle disagreements constructively — finding compromise and keeping the team focused.
Students have experienced first-hand that teams achieve more than individuals when they work well together.
Works brilliantly as team-building enrichment at key points in the school year.
