A fast-paced enterprise workshop that unleashes creativity, confidence, and leadership — challenging students to think big, take risks, and turn ideas into action through hands-on business challenges and team-based innovation.
The Think Like an Entrepreneur workshop isn't about turning children into business owners — it's about developing the mindset. Creativity, resilience, initiative, and the confidence to try something new. These are the skills that every child needs, whether they start a business or not.
Every session is adapted to your year group. Reception and Year 1 explore enterprise through role-play shops and simple 'what would you make?' challenges. Year 2 and 3 design products, create brand names, and practise persuading customers. Year 4 and 5 run full enterprise simulations — budgets, marketing, and profit. Year 6 pitch their business ideas in a Dragon's Den-style event, facing questions and defending their strategy.
Supports the 2028 Citizenship curriculum, PSHE enterprise objectives, and the Core Enrichment Entitlement — every pupil experiencing wider life skills and civic engagement.
Citizenship becomes compulsory in primary schools from September 2028, with enterprise and civic participation as core elements. The Core Enrichment Entitlement also requires every pupil to experience wider life skills. Schools running enterprise workshops now are building the culture ahead of statutory requirements.
This workshop maps directly to the Think Like an Entrepreneur skill in the Future Skills Passport programme. Book it as a standalone wow-factor day, or as part of your school's journey towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold accreditation.
Every activity is designed to build a different aspect of this skill. Your facilitator selects and adapts activities based on the year group.
Students generate business ideas by spotting problems worth solving and imagining products or services that would help. Creativity and volume are rewarded — wild ideas encouraged.
All year groupsTeams investigate whether their idea would actually work — surveying classmates, identifying their target customer, and discovering what people would pay for.
Year 2+Students create a brand identity for their product — name, logo, tagline, and packaging design. They learn that how you present an idea matters as much as the idea itself.
Year 1+Teams prepare and deliver a 90-second pitch for their business — practising persuasion, confidence, and the ability to explain a complex idea simply.
Year 2+Students explore the difference between profit and social enterprise — discovering that businesses can make money AND make a difference. They redesign their idea to include social impact.
Year 4+Year 6 students face the full Dragon's Den experience — pitching to a panel, answering tough questions, negotiating, and learning to handle rejection and feedback gracefully.
Year 5 & 6Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and the Future Skills Passport framework.
Students can identify opportunities, generate ideas, and think beyond the obvious to find innovative solutions.
Students understand profit, costs, marketing, and customer value — the fundamentals of how enterprise works.
Students can present their ideas persuasively, handle questions, and respond to feedback constructively.
Students understand that enterprise can drive positive change — profit and purpose aren't mutually exclusive.
Aligns with enterprise awareness events and careers education throughout the year.
