Discover the wonder of prehistoric Britain

The Stone Age workshop gives KS2 students an immersive experience of life thousands of years ago. Through VR, children explore Stonehenge, ancient settlements, and the daily challenges of hunter-gatherer life. Rather than abstract timelines, students see and experience the Stone Age world.

Year 3 and Year 4 students walk through VR recreations of Stone Age villages, investigate replica flint tools, and participate in survival challenges. They explore Stonehenge and learn theories about its purpose. Every activity builds understanding of how people lived, what technology they had, and how they adapted to their environment.

Book a full-day visit and choose a different VR topic for every year group — making it super specific to each class's curriculum and exceptional value for money.

What students take away

Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and build historical thinking skills.

Chronological understanding

Students grasp the vast span of the Stone Age and understand it as a real period of human history.

Cultural and technological evolution

Students see how tools, art, and settlement patterns changed over thousands of years.

Historical site significance

Students understand that Stonehenge and other monuments tell us important things about ancient people.

Daily life insights

Students can imagine what daily life was like for Stone Age people and what challenges they faced.

The archaeological dig was brilliant — Year 4 students were so engaged discovering 'artefacts' and then discussing what they meant. One girl said 'It's like the Stone Age people are talking to us through their objects.' That's exactly the kind of historical thinking we want to develop.
