Help your students build healthy habits that last a lifetime

The Stay Healthy workshop makes physical health tangible and exciting. Students don't just hear about healthy eating — they build balanced meals, decode food labels, and discover why their body needs different nutrients. They don't just learn that exercise matters — they experience how movement affects their mood, focus, and energy.

Every session is adapted to your year group. Reception and Year 1 explore health through sensory play, movement games, and simple choices. Year 2 and 3 investigate food groups, hygiene routines, and the importance of sleep. Year 4 and 5 analyse nutrition labels, design exercise plans, and understand how the body works. Year 6 tackle myths, make evidence-based health decisions, and create health campaigns for their school.

Supports Science, PSHE, and PE curriculum objectives. All resources provided — no preparation needed from your staff.

Six hands-on activities, adapted by age

Every activity is designed to build a different aspect of this skill. Your facilitator selects and adapts activities based on the year group.

1

Body Basics

An interactive introduction to how the body works — heart rate, breathing, digestion, and why each system needs looking after. Younger students use body maps; older students explore with hands-on demonstrations.

All year groups
2

Nutrition Challenge

Teams build balanced meals from food cards, learning about the five food groups, portion sizes, and why variety matters. Older students decode real nutrition labels and spot hidden sugars.

All year groups
3

Active Minutes

A high-energy challenge that shows students how movement affects their mood and focus — comparing how they feel before and after a burst of activity. Includes games that prove exercise can be fun.

All year groups
4

Sleep Science

Students discover why sleep matters for growing brains, what happens during sleep, and practical tips for better bedtime routines. Includes a screen-time discussion for older students.

Year 2+
5

Hygiene Heroes

Interactive demonstrations on handwashing, dental care, and everyday hygiene. Younger students use glitter-germ experiments; older students investigate how germs spread and how to stop them.

Year 1+
6

Healthy Habits Pledge

Students design their own personalised health plan — setting realistic goals for nutrition, exercise, sleep, and hygiene that they can follow at home and in school.

Year 3+

What students take away

Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and the Future Skills Passport framework.

Nutrition understanding

Students can identify food groups, explain why a balanced diet matters, and make informed choices about what they eat.

Value of physical activity

Students understand how exercise benefits their body, mood, and concentration — and have experienced it first-hand.

Healthy routine awareness

Students know why sleep and hygiene matter and can plan realistic routines that support their wellbeing.

Informed health decisions

Students can evaluate health claims, spot myths, and make evidence-based choices about their own health.

The glitter-germ handwashing experiment had the children talking for days. But it was the nutrition challenge that really surprised me — Year 3 students were reading food labels at home that evening. Parents were messaging to say thank you.
