A hands-on financial literacy workshop that empowers primary students with essential money skills — from earning and saving to budgeting and spending — through interactive challenges, teamwork, and real-world scenarios.
The Manage Money workshop is a fast-paced, interactive session that brings financial literacy to life. Students don't just learn about money — they experience it. Through team-based challenges, real-world scenarios, and hands-on decision-making, they discover how earning, saving, budgeting, and spending connect to their everyday lives.
Every session is adapted to your year group. Reception and Year 1 explore money through stories and play. Year 2 and 3 take on guided budgeting challenges. Year 4 and 5 run full enterprise simulations. And Year 6 tackle complex financial scenarios that prepare them for secondary school and beyond.
Your facilitator arrives with everything needed — presenter packs, visual prompts, team resources, and activity kits. No prep required from your staff.
Financial literacy becomes statutory in primary schools from September 2028. Schools adopting the Manage Money workshop now have an 18-month head start — building staff confidence and student competence before the requirements land.
This workshop maps directly to the Manage Money skill in the Future Skills Passport programme. Book it as a standalone wow-factor day, or as part of your school's journey towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold accreditation.
Every activity is designed to build a different financial skill. Your facilitator selects and adapts activities based on the year group.
Students discover how people earn money through jobs, skills, and enterprise. They match careers to earnings, explore what makes work valuable, and discuss fair pay.
All year groupsA savings goal challenge where teams decide how much to save, what they're saving for, and how long it takes. Younger students use visual piggy bank charts; older students calculate interest.
All year groupsTeams receive a budget and must make spending decisions — prioritising needs vs. wants, comparing prices, and dealing with unexpected costs that force them to adapt.
Year 2+The flagship challenge. Teams plan a school event with a fixed budget — allocating funds across categories, negotiating costs, and presenting their plan to the class.
Year 3+Students investigate real-world money scenarios — spotting scams, understanding advertising tricks, and learning to question "too good to be true" offers.
Year 4+Year 6 students explore longer-term financial concepts — from understanding bank accounts and borrowing to planning their own enterprise idea with a startup budget.
Year 5 & 6Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and the Future Skills Passport framework.
Students can use and explain key terms: earning, saving, budget, interest, needs, wants, profit, and loss.
