Give your students the money skills they'll use for life

The Manage Money workshop is a fast-paced, interactive session that brings financial literacy to life. Students don't just learn about money — they experience it. Through team-based challenges, real-world scenarios, and hands-on decision-making, they discover how earning, saving, budgeting, and spending connect to their everyday lives.

Every session is adapted to your year group. Reception and Year 1 explore money through stories and play. Year 2 and 3 take on guided budgeting challenges. Year 4 and 5 run full enterprise simulations. And Year 6 tackle complex financial scenarios that prepare them for secondary school and beyond.

Your facilitator arrives with everything needed — presenter packs, visual prompts, team resources, and activity kits. No prep required from your staff.

2028 Curriculum Change

Financial literacy becomes statutory in primary schools from September 2028. Schools adopting the Manage Money workshop now have an 18-month head start — building staff confidence and student competence before the requirements land.

Six hands-on activities, adapted by age

Every activity is designed to build a different financial skill. Your facilitator selects and adapts activities based on the year group.

1

Earn It

Students discover how people earn money through jobs, skills, and enterprise. They match careers to earnings, explore what makes work valuable, and discuss fair pay.

All year groups
2

Save It

A savings goal challenge where teams decide how much to save, what they're saving for, and how long it takes. Younger students use visual piggy bank charts; older students calculate interest.

All year groups
3

Spend It Wisely

Teams receive a budget and must make spending decisions — prioritising needs vs. wants, comparing prices, and dealing with unexpected costs that force them to adapt.

Year 2+
4

Budget Boss

The flagship challenge. Teams plan a school event with a fixed budget — allocating funds across categories, negotiating costs, and presenting their plan to the class.

Year 3+
5

Money Detectives

Students investigate real-world money scenarios — spotting scams, understanding advertising tricks, and learning to question "too good to be true" offers.

Year 4+
6

Future Finance

Year 6 students explore longer-term financial concepts — from understanding bank accounts and borrowing to planning their own enterprise idea with a startup budget.

Year 5 & 6

What students take away

Every session is designed around measurable outcomes that align with the National Curriculum and the Future Skills Passport framework.

Financial vocabulary

Students can use and explain key terms: earning, saving, budget, interest, needs, wants, profit, and loss.

Budgeting confidence

Students can create a simple budget, allocate resources, and explain their spending choices.

Critical thinking about money

Students can evaluate spending decisions, distinguish needs from wants, and spot financial risks.

Real-world application

Students connect financial concepts to their own lives — pocket money, saving goals, and everyday choices.

The children were completely engaged from start to finish. The budgeting challenge had them debating, negotiating, and thinking critically about every penny. Several teachers said it was the best workshop they'd seen all year.
